I was just thinking to myself this evening, gee, wouldn’t it be cool if I had been able to receive announcements over an iPhone instead of the intercom during high school.

Then I thought, this could have a dramatic impact. Imagine being able to receive school cancellations, club meeting time changes, announcements, reminders, assignments all on an iPhone or something similar. Each student would be given one, just like they used to hand out those TI-83 graphing calculators.

If money is the primary boundary, I think it’s only a matter of time an PDA-like device becomes priced like a graphing calculator.

Ironically, after getting out of the shower, I took a glance at my iGoogle page to see this Reuters headline. I thought this was extra cool because it’s happening here in Boston.

DVX100 with SGpro r3 on IndiRailsProxv sm

DVX100 with SGpro r3 on IndiRailsProxv sm

SGpro

I just got my SGpro r3 yesterday as well as my IndirailsPROxv sm system. It is by far, across the board, the most pleasant shopping experience online that I know of in terms of shipping speed, returns, site usability, and customer service.

So, I was a little bit taken back when I found out today that they have expanded their business model beyond the realm of computer parts and electronics. The Secret of the Film’s Look
Great pains were taken to give the fourth movie the look and feel of the first three, despite the time gap. Steven Spielberg insisted on using stunt men instead of computer animation. Computer-generated effects are used only when absolutely necessary. The footage was shot on film instead of digital format. Cinematographer Janusz Kaminski painstakingly studied the first three movies in order to preserve the style of previous cinematographer Douglas Slocombe (who is now retired). The result looks, as George Lucas said, “like it was shot 3 years after the Last Crusade, you’d never know there was 20 years between shooting.” Unlike a certain other George Lucas franchise we all know and love.”

via Mental Floss

I had my doubts having seen the trailers that the sequel would have loads of CG, and basically ruin the experience, much like the newest Star Wars films did for me. Having read some reviews that said the latest Jones movie is light on plot, heavy on action, I’ve been a little anxious. However, if this fun fact is true, my hope may be restored! I’m looking forward to seeing it!

"Barack Obama will take a major step toward the Democratic presidential nomination when Oregon and..."

“Barack Obama will take a major step toward the Democratic presidential nomination when Oregon and Kentucky vote on Tuesday, but rival Hillary Clinton still hopes to spoil the party.”

- Double entendre?
