What are the chances! I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect you to be the kind of person that blogs. My mind is blown.

You still complain a lot in class though.

Attention websites with articles:

Please put a date stamp at the top of the page so your viewers can know when it was published.

Motorola Droid

Finally. FINALLY!! Verizon will soon carry the Motorola Droid. The date is official: November 6th. For three years I’ve bided my time, put up with Windows Mobile, and waited for a worthy smartphone from Big Red.

At last, they are delivering the goods. And, what a beast it is!
The big selling points for me include:

Gmail, Google search/calendar/maps integration

recently announced Google Maps Navigation!

solid web browser

Yelp

keeping Verizon’s excellent cell reception

I look forward to having a trusty Droid.

Edit: I forgot to mention the main reason I have been waiting for an Android phone is the mere fact that it is an open platform, unlike Apple’s walled garden.

Photo

Photo

Gentlemen Broncos

Tonight I went to an advanced screening/press viewing for Gentlemen Broncos. An older woman was sitting next to me (I think she was the oldest in the audience). Right before the movie, she leaned over and asked “Did you see Napoleon Dynamite? Heh Heh. That was interesting wasn’t it?” That lady had no idea what she was in for. Between the mammory cannons and the innuendo, I couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that she had to sit through the film’s barrage of potty humor and awkward moments. I thought maybe she was the director’s mom, because he was there for the Q&A afterward. Nope.

Oh well. Not for everyone. In any case…

My quickie review: Napoleon Dynamite was a much better version of the film. Nearly all the elements of Gentlemen Broncos are brought over from Napoleon Dynamite . As a result, Jared Hess breaks very little ground in terms of originality. However, Jemaine Clement’s character Chevalier is still pretty cool to watch if you’re a Flight of the Conchords fan.

Thank you for this. I hadn’t shot an event like this in a while (I’m more into short films and music videos), so I forgot how awkward it can be capturing regular folks on camera.

I did my best to stand far enough away to avoid getting in people’s faces, but then it’s like you’re spying on them from afar. If they catch you, it’s doubly embarrassing for them.

Any way you go about it, it’s hard not to seem like a creepo with a camera.

This is such a great collection.rubenfm:

I have attempted to heed this advice, but I don’t have a lot of soundtracks on my computer. However, what I do have is iTunes and its selection of internet radio channels. I am currently listening to Fistful of Soundtracks under the eclectic category. It’s got a pretty great variety of movie scores and songs – old and new. The coolest thing is that every now and then it plays a random old movie trailer. I just heard one for an old kung-fu flick. It sounds like the ones you’d hear on an old VHS tape before the feature presentation.

Anyway, if you like soundtracks, give it a listen sometime.

"Legally, the question of whether the spiciness of the kebab sauce constituted ‘normal’..."

“Legally, the question of whether the spiciness of the kebab sauce constituted ‘normal’ or grievous bodily harm must be addressed.”

- German police investigate kebab sauce after attack

With a little more effort, we could be at 50%!
